PHAS∆EASY |

The Phas∆easy is the last of a series of three accessories (see also Pha∆ser e Pha∆ble) all dedicated to solve the practical matters about the correct finding and tune-up of the AC phase in the audio-video setup.
This instrument measures the dispersion current (the real energy, rather than the potential one represented by the voltage) that flows both between the different electronics (by the earth connection of signal wires), and between the earth of each instrument and the safety ground of the electrical system.
The dispersion current, however small its value, it’s always present and has common path with some circuit sections concerned with sensible electric signals. |

This current ovelaps with the audio and video signals (either analog or digital), adds noise and creates, consequently, distortion.
This distortion becomes evident mainly as a loss of focus, detail and depth (audio), or contrast, saturation and sharpness (video). In the worst cases the dispersion current might be cause of an annoying underground buzz or, in the extreme, if it grows of dangerous degree, be able to bring into action the household electric system protections.
The Phas∆easy allows, through two different measurements methods (taking the current dispersion between the electronics themselves or between them and the safety ground) to find the “best phase” in any setup, either audio or video.
The amount of the current dispersion at play is shown through a column of twelve LEDs that lights up in a manner very much alike to a Vu-meter, giving a very clear and immediate reading.

Current dispersion is clearly indicated by a LED scale |

The Phas∆easy (CE certified) is a measuring instrument in SMD technology managed by a microprocessor with a sensitivity comparable only to high precision professional instruments. It is, in fact, able to distinguish up to +-1 microamperes (the million part of ampere) of current, that is to say a sensitivity that is an order of magnitude higher than the one measured by any tester and by many other instruments, even of a much higher price.
The Pha∆ble requires for its working a long-life lithium battery (replaceable), already installed. |
